Calling All Volunteers for Barn Help!

Hello Friends!
Rodgers Ranch Heritage Center (RRHC) invites you to be a part of Rodgers Ranch history! We urgently need volunteers, especially new ones, to help with the current barn project.  
We are on a strict deadline to remove and transport wood from the Martinez Barn 
(c. 1890s) to RRHC before it is demolished forever and we lose a great opportunity to recycle this excellent redwood for Rodgers Ranch new barn. Our fabulous and friendly board member, Christian Rousset, is supervising volunteers several times a week and welcomes all volunteers. 

We Need Volunteers To:

• Help dismantle the old barn in Martinez IN PROGRESS! THE ROOF IS OFF! THE SIDES ARE COMING DOWN!
  
• Sort wood stock (good wood vs. unusable wood) at the Martinez barn site IN PROGRESS!
  
• Load wood up onto trucks. If you have a trailer or boat bed truck, please bring it!! 
  
• Transport wood from Martinez to Rodgers Ranch in Pleasant Hill (It’s only 2 - 3 miles)
  
• Unload wood into containers at Rodgers Ranch
  
• Put together shelving for housing and storing wood in the containers DONE!
  

This week we will be at the barn:

• Tuesday (8/25) 10am - 2pm

• Sunday (8/30) 10am - 2pm
  

For safety and comfort, we recommend you wear close-toed shoes, long pants, hat, and gloves. If you have a cordless drill, straight screwdriver, or hammer, please bring them along!

For volunteers who work the entire day on Sundays, we will provide water and box lunches!  
During the week, please bring a sack lunch and water.
