Naturalist Michael Marchiano- Spiders

  • Rodgers Ranch Heritage Center 315 Cortsen Road Pleasant Hill, CA, 94523 United States (map)

Arachnophobia - or how I learned to love spiders! presented by Naturalist Michael Marchiano.

Join us for a special presentation on our native tarantula, Aphonopelma iodius as well as other spider species common to our area. Autumn is “spider” season when spiders breed, make egg cases, and propagate future generations. Learn about their amazing life cycle, hunting methods, importance to the ecosystem, and hopefully dispel many of the myths and ignorance people have about spiders.
