Jennifer Brennan, our speaker for the Home Canning and Preserving Workshop on September 13, taught participants about the joy of canning all that extra delicious produce you grow or buy! With blackberries she and her husband picked the previous day, along with nectarines and figs, Jennifer made a huge pot of jam she brought to the farmhouse to continue simmering on the stove as she taught students how simple it is to do effective water bath canning. They also learned about lacto-fermentation, sampled crunchy pickled zucchini and zesty cauliflower, and took home resource materials and mason jars of delicious jam!
